January 2025: The accreditation team would like to thank the community for their patience related to the issuance of CERT+ IDs. While we have cleared much of the backlog dating from mid-November 2024, there are a handful of programs that require adjustment by the CFPC on their system before we are able to generate IDs. We will generate those IDs as soon as possible. If you are experiencing a longer than expected delay, please reach out to cpd.accreditation@utoronto.ca with the program name and course code. Thank you.

December 2024: The CFPC’s new Mainpro+ certification standards are in effect as of December 16th, 2024. Some key changes to our previous practices include additional CFPC members on some planning committees, a requirement for content review in some cases, and direct submission for some nationally-promoted programs requiring Mainpro+ credits. We invite program directors and administrators to reach out to the accreditation team via Karma Farah for a consult should you have any questions on how these changes may affect your program or your application route. We are also providing feedback on new applications on how programs may address the new standards. For programs that may no longer want to seek Mainpro+ credits, please note that CFPC members can claim up to a maximum of 50 credits per five-year cycle of Royal College Section 1 and Section 3 credits. Additional credits are eligible as non-certified credits. Additional CFPC requirements will be reflected in the UofT CPD application process throughout 2025.

October 2024: Due to changes at the CFPC, and a temporary blackout of the CERT+ application system starting in mid-November, the generation of CERT+ ID numbers will be delayed until January 2025. CPD at Temerty Medicine is able to process applications for Mainpro+ credits during this blackout through our application system but will be unable to generate the CERT+ ID number for an approved program. CERT+ ID numbers are used to claim credits and for the letters of attendance and are typically generated at or shortly after program approval by our office. If you would like to have a CERT+ ID number generated prior to the portal’s closure in November for an accredited program, please request this from Vashty Hawkins at vashty.hawkins@utoronto.ca prior to November 5.
Applications for Mainpro+ program certification submitted directly to the CFPC are temporarily unavailable between October 17, 2024 and December 16, 2024. Questions about these applications and this process can be directed to mainprocredits@cfpc.ca.
More information about the changes to Mainpro+ will be posted on this page and will be a topic of our CPD Accreditation Information Session on December 4, 2024. Should you have any questions, please contact Karma Farah at k.farah@utoronto.ca.
- October 2024: To more closely reflect the National Standard, we have adjusted the disclosure declaration form and the slide templates for both the program and SPC members and speakers, moderators, facilitators and authors. These revised versions are posted on the Quick Tips page.
