Canadian Breast Cancer Symposium 2025 (Guest Speakers)

Thank-you for agreeing to be a speaker at the Canadian Breast Cancer Symposium from June 19-20 at the Hilton Downtown Toronto (145 Richmond Street West - Toronto, Ontario, M5H 2L2)

This web page will guide you through a series of tasks for your participation as a presenter. Please complete all the tasks by the deadlines listed below.

1 Preparing for Your Session

Please submit the following items by email to CPD Conference Services

Headshot

Please provide a professional headshot in jpeg or png format. This will be used on the online platform and in conference marketing materials.

Credentials & Appointments

All speakers are asked to submit their signature in the following format:

Short Biography (50 words or less)

Your biography should be 2-3 sentences  (50 words or less) outlining your experience in the field.

Conflict of Interest Form

Every speaker must complete the Conflict of Interest Disclosure Form.

Learning Objectives

To ensure your presentation content and delivery is in alignment with the stated program objectives.

You will need to create 2-3 Learning Objectives for your session. Learn more about writing learning objectives here.

2 Travel Booking and Expenses

Due
May 5

Our office will be arranging and covering the cost of the following items for your travel to Toronto:

  • 2 nights (standard room and tax) at the Hilton Downtown Toronto (145 Richmond Street West)
    • Please confirm your check in/out dates by May 5th, 2025. Hotel confirmation numbers will be sent out in early June.
  • Ground transfers from Toronto Pearson or Billy Bishop Airport to the Hilton (Please provide your flight itinerary by May 5 to arrange)

Flights

Your economy fare to Toronto will be covered up to a maximum of $1500 CAD.

  • Please book your flight and provide your itinerary by email to confserv@utoronto.ca by May 5th, 2025.
  • If you need assistance booking your flight, our travel agent would be happy to arrange it for you. Please contact us by email with your desired dates and gateways before May 5th, 2025. If we have not received a request for booking assistance by May 5th, we will assume you will be booking your own flight.

Please use this expense form to claim your flight expenses and send it back to us with the following after the conference via email.

  • Itinerary and receipt or ticket confirmation from the airline must indicate method of payment and amount paid by the traveller.
  • Expense reports and receipts must be received by July 15th, 2025.

*Note: it is extremely important that you keep original receipts for your expenses. We will not be able to reimburse you if you do not have proper documentation.

3 How To Submit your Presentation

  1. Please submit your presentation (in .ppt) format by email to CPD Conference Services or using this WeTransfer link
  2. Please ensure the title of your presentation file is named: CBC-firstname-lastname so we are able to easily track it.
  3. If you have polling questions or other interactivity, please write the question number and slide number in the body of the email so we can ensure they are not missed and built into our polling platform
  4. If you have not submitted your presentation in advance, please place your presentation on an unencrypted USB device and bring it with you to the conference. You must arrive at least 1 hour prior to your session. When you arrive, please check in at the registration desk so we are able to give your presentation to the A/V team. Polling questions will need to be emailed in text format in advance to cpd.confserv@utoronto.ca so they can be entered into our polling software.

Slide Format & Mandatory Slides

University of Toronto Accreditation conditions require that all presenters/speakers must include a disclosure slide and learning objectives slide at the beginning of their presentation, stating all real or apparent conflict(s) of interest or lack thereof and verbally notify the audience. Interactivity

All presentations must include a minimum of 25% interactivity. This is typically achieved through audience response (polling) and Q&A.

Copyright

Content for PowerPoint presentations, websites and printed materials should not contain copyright-protected work. However, if the materials are deemed essential, the application of Fair Dealing may apply.

Patient Confidentiality

All presentations must comply with patient confidentiality agreements. Patient names should not be used, and images must not contain identifiable features (e.g., institutional location of scan, date of scan, patient date of birth, MRN, photography that shows facial or other identifiable features etc.).
