The theme of Post MD Education’s 2018-19 Annual Report is Reimagining Education. This theme was chosen to highlight the ways in which Postgraduate Medical Education (PGME) and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) are preparing its learners to practice medicine in the second half of this century.
Across CPD, activities undertaken throughout the year to achieve this end include the certificate programs Leading and Influencing Change in CPD and CPD Foundations, which continue to offer valuable management and leadership tools for healthcare professionals who lead continuing education initiatives in today’s complex health care system and an increased focus on developing e-modules to provide on demand options for learners.
CPD has also worked to develop its partnership with CMPA’s Saegis to take the fully accredited multi-modal training program in Safer Opioid Prescribing to Nova Scotia and Alberta, developed a process to provide additional education consulting support and been recognized by the Society for Academic Continuing Medical Education (SACME) at the society’s annual conference for excellence in research and scholarship.
These activities help to illustrate some of the steps taken across CPD to reimagine education. You can read more about CPD’s and Post MD’s past year in this year’s annual report.
