Denise E. Wilfley, Ph.D. is the Scott Rudolph University Professor of Psychiatry, Medicine, Pediatrics, and Psychological & Brain Sciences at Washington University in St. Louis and is an international authority in the etiology, prevention, and treatment of eating disorders and obesity. Dr. Wilfley takes an integrative approach to understanding, preventing, and treating eating disorders and obesity, and her pioneering work was integral to recognizing binge eating disorder in the DSM-5 and to establishing the efficacy of psychological treatments for BED.
