The theatre of medicine- A two-day Shaw Festival educational program for Doctors

This two day workshop is being co-developed by the Royal College and the Shaw festival; three planning committee members are experienced faculty developers in the Temerty Faculty of Medicine. It will pursue a unique interactive design including panel sessions, lectures, reflective exercises, an immersive live performance, and guided small group discussions. The program is designed to create both an appreciation for the inextricable links between arts and medicine and the evolving literature base linking various aspects of presence with increased patient engagement and improved outcomes. Every participant will develop a personal action plan to adapt skills learned from professional actors and reflective exercises to every patient encounter going forward.
