For over a decade, Scarlett Nelson has been an activist and advocate for youth-focused drug policy reform, patients’ rights and anti-poverty initiatives. In 2018, she joined the At-Risk Youth Study research team as a Peer Research Associate (PRA). Scarlett is especially interested in the potential for cannabis to be used as harm reduction and treatment for other forms of substance use, and she has co-authored an academic research paper, spoken at several conferences and community events, and been featured in print and television media pieces on this topic.
